Blaenhonddan Primary School is a happy, hard-working, and well-ordered community in which children are able to develop their potential academically, socially, spiritually, and creatively. We are privileged to have wonderfully caring children, supportive parents, a committed governing body, and staff whose efforts are underpinned by the drive to see every child achieve success in a safe, happy, supportive, and stimulating environment.

We strive to establish a love of learning in all our children by providing highly engaging, high quality learning experiences. At the centre of learning is a broad, balanced, relevant, and engaging curriculum, which ensures every child is able to achieve and show their talents.

At Blaenhonddan, we ensure our learners develop knowledge, skills and a positive attitude to learning. We aim to motivate learners through engaging and exciting experiences, which enable them to be strong communicators, good readers, effective writers, and capable mathematicians. We share clear aspirations for every child and set high expectations that support them to aspire, believe, and succeed.

To achieve this, we are committed to providing authentic learning experiences that help our learners to understand the world around them and make a positive impact. We will encourage learners to accept and take responsibility for themselves and their actions, preparing them for life beyond school. We shall provide opportunities for children to develop confidence, resilience, and independence to keep going when things are tricky.

We want and expect our children to be kind, respectful and to be able to form positive relationships with themselves and others. We expect everyone to feel safe, happy and cared for, and to grow their ability to understand and manage their emotions.

Wellbeing and connection will be at the centre of everything we do, and we expect our learners to leave Blaenhonddan - capable, caring and ready for whatever comes next.
